Nixon Peabody LLP . The Conflicts Attorney is responsible for identifying and resolving potential legal and business conflicts. This position helps ensure best practices and adherence to firm policies and procedures in client intake, staff and attorney new hires and firm growth opportunities. This position reports to the Associate General Counsel - New Business, Conflicts and Ethics. Location: Albany, NY; Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Los Angeles, CA; Providence, RI; Rochester, NY; Washington, DC. Responsibilities

Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of ethical, legal and risk management. Provide analysis and critical assessment of due diligence to identify, report and address potential ethical and business conflicts of interest and client worthiness issues related to new firm business, firm growth opportunities and newly hired personnel. Proactively engage in discussions with attorneys, staff and team members to gather information and work to resolve conflicts of interest or other business issues. Draft and review conflict waivers, engagement letters, and other engagement-related documents to ensure compliance with ethical rules and firm policies and standards. Review outside counsel agreements, requests for proposals, and other similar documents to identify and resolve potential conflicts issues and ensure compliance with firm policies and ethical standards. Coordinate review with other stakeholders and functional areas. Establish and implement ethical walls. Maintain accurate records and tracking systems to ensure effective information sharing, proactive follow up and timely documentation of conflict clearance process in firm databases. Assist firm personnel in understanding the firm’s conflicts and new business intake policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Minimum 4 years of legal experience, preferably within a law firm. Active member in good standing in a state bar. Juris Doctor Degree required. Knowledge of law firm conflict clearance and business intake procedures and business organization structures. Exceptional analytical, decisive and critical thinking skills. Ability to communicate concise, timely, accurate and logical conclusions and recommendations based on analyzing data with varied content and format. Excellent project management and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision. Ability to work with multiple projects, shifting priorities, and tight deadlines. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to provide outstanding customer service and interact collegially. Equal Opportunity
