Norton Rose Fulbright . Norton Rose Fulbright is seeking a tax lawyer with a strong interest in renewable energy and other aspects of the energy transition to work with its project finance group. This role involves supporting senior associates and partners who work with project developers, lenders and investors on solar, wind, geothermal, battery storage, carbon capture, renewable natural gas, green hydrogen, electric transmission and similar projects. You’ll gain exposure to cutting-edge developments in federal tax law and work closely with leading practitioners in the field. Location flexibility: Washington, D.C. or New York preferred. This position may be based in other offices; please indicate your office(s) of interest in your application.

Responsibilities

Support senior associates and partners who work with project developers, lenders and investors on renewable energy and energy-transition projects.

Assist with complex financing and tax transactions related to solar, wind, geothermal, battery storage, and related projects.

Gain exposure to federal tax law and collaborate with practitioners in the field.

Qualifications

2-5 years’ experience as a tax lawyer.

Familiarity with renewable energy incentives, such as the tax credits in the Inflation Reduction Act, and partnership taxation is preferred.

Strong academic credentials.

LLM in taxation is preferred.

Prior work experience within a large law firm is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits The full-time base salary per year for this position will range between $235,000 - $365,000. Bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed and depend on individual and firm performance. Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience.
