Overview
Fixed Maintenance Planner responsible for routine data entry and withdrawal related to maintenance to keep production running. Works at a mine on a remote island about 18 miles outside of Juneau, Alaska. Responsible for maintaining equipment statistics, preparing maintenance reports, and procuring warehouse stock in conjunction with maintenance needs. Must work independently on a remote island while also collaborating with others to create a productive team environment and ensure high-quality data integrity. Responsibilities
Maintain equipment statistics and prepare maintenance reports. Procure warehouse stock in alignment with maintenance needs. Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management Information System (CMMS). Support a process-based maintenance program; monitor standards and performance guidelines. Ensure safety procedures are followed; inspect equipment and work areas before starting work. Work cooperatively with others as part of a team and promote collaboration, trust, and openness among employees. Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and maintain data integrity. Make decisions based on maintenance part lifespans and understand the impact of cost, quality, and availability on the operation. About Us
The Greens Creek Mine, located on Admiralty Island 18 miles south of Juneau, is an underground polymetallic mine operating since 1989 and employing over 500 people. The mine is owned and operated by Hecla Mining Company. Hecla is a long-standing precious metals producer with a focus on safety and environmental stewardship. What You Can Expect In This Role
Training first: MSHA training is provided in the first 4 days on the job, along with department-level training on safety and operations. Extensive knowledge in fixed maintenance and attention to detail; experience with a CMMS. Maintenance trade school experience and planning/scheduling for fixed equipment. Decision-making based on part lifespans and understanding the impact of cost, quality, and availability. Continual improvement of the maintenance cycle and monitoring of standards; promoting safety. Independent work on a remote island with the ability to resolve problems promptly and work as part of a team you can rely on.
