Overview This individual contributor is primarily responsible for negotiating, implementing, and administering collective bargaining and labor agreements under guidance, and conducting union relations activities and initiatives under guidance. The role supports the development and implementation of the Regions and National Labor Relations strategy and manages and integrates case handling and resolution of grievances under guidance.

Complete work assignments and support business-specific projects by applying subject-area expertise; develop work plans to meet priorities and deadlines; ensure compliance with procedures and policies; coordinate resources; collaborate cross-functionally to make effective decisions; solve complex problems; escalate high-priority issues or risks; and identify improvement opportunities.
Conduct union relations activities and initiatives under guidance by collaborating with union officials; serve as a point of contact to union representatives; create reports and information for sharing union relations strategies; design committees; develop strategies for joint interests; implement labor relations plans; maintain positive relationships with union leadership; lead joint L/M endeavors; conduct impact bargaining reflecting business decisions on terms and conditions of employment.
Negotiate, implement, and administer collective bargaining and labor agreements under guidance, ensuring alignment with regional and business unit objectives; prepare information for management; review labor programs for compliance; forecast wages and economics; develop contractual language, wage schedules, and costing reports; analyze proposals and provide economic recommendations; implement negotiated provisions; train management negotiating teams; prepare negotiation data; develop bargaining strategy; assist in managing labor actions (e.g., work stoppages, picketing, leafleting).
Support the development and implementation of Regional and National Labor Relations strategy, accounting for federal and state laws (including the National Labor Relations Act); consider long-term labor implications of business decisions; align regional and national plans; provide LR consultation on HR/business unit implications; collaborate with HR and business leadership to ensure understanding of strategy; provide ongoing consultation on decision-making forums.
Manage and integrate case handling and resolution of grievances under guidance; engage in dispute resolution as appropriate; minimize liability; respond to union/management issues; support legal counsel during arbitration/mediation; consult with stakeholders on grievances and investigations; evaluate issues for contractual violations; recommend remedies to grieving parties.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Social/Behavioral Science, Education, Public Administration, Liberal Arts, Law, or related field; and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in human resources, business operations, consulting, legal, or a related field, including at least 3 years of labor relations experience in a unionized environment. Additional equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement. Advanced degrees may be substituted for years of experience.
