Overview POSITION OVERVIEW

The HR Manager will coordinate all HR functions across the organization including payroll, onboarding, hiring, employee matters and the coordination of required training for security guards in compliance with BSIS.

A Human Resources Professional who is accustomed to working in a high-stakes, professional environment and understands that Human Resources directly influences the success of the company.

MUST BE AN EXPERT IN

- Federal, California, and local labor laws, including wage and hour regulation, maintaining payroll accounts, preparing payroll audits, and act as the go-to person for all Human Resources matters.

This position REQUIRES employees to live within San Francisco County, CA - Monterey County, CA. Candidates who do not live in these areas will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

The HR Manager will perform all responsibilities related to payroll, onboarding, offboarding, hiring, employee relations, benefits, local, state, and federal labor laws (FMLA, Workers' Comp, ADA, OSHA, HIPAA, EEOC, FLSA, etc).

General HR Administration

Support HR functions, assist with employee inquiries, and maintain accurate HR records.

Address employee concerns, promote positive workplace relationships, and resolve conflicts.

Collaborating with leadership to develop HR strategies aligned with business objectives

Payroll

Process payroll, including wages, bonuses, and deductions, ensuring compliance with tax laws and company policies.

Prepare and maintain payroll records, timesheet entry and discrepancies.

Reconcile payroll accounts, process garnishments, and deductions, and respond to inquiries from employees and management.

Maintain payroll records, ensuring updates for new hires, salary changes, and benefits.

Employee Onboarding & Offboarding

Manage employee documentation, including onboarding forms, contracts, and benefits enrollment.

CalSaver and Ease platform

Ensure completion of required forms (I-9, EDD, Tax Forms, W-4, etc.) and that employees understand company policies.

Collaborate with IT to ensure new hires have access to all necessary software, systems, and email.

Manage termination and separation documentation, ensuring compliance.

Training

Coordinate and track required training for Armed and Unarmed Security Guards, ensuring compliance with BSIS regulations.

Maintain up-to-date training records and certifications for security staff.

Required Knowledge and Competencies

Bachelor's degree in HR or SHRM certification is preferred.

3-5 consecutive years of experience as an HR Manager.

3–5 consecutive years of hands-on experience managing the full payroll cycle.

Security Industry experience

Knowledge of CalSaver, Ease platform (online benefits administration)

Expert knowledge of Local, State, and Federal labor laws (FMLA, Workers' Comp, ADA, OSHA, HIPAA, EEOC, FLSA).

Understanding of compliance requirements for the security industry.

Performance management and employee development.

Strong time management and able to meet deadlines.

Extremely detail oriented

Excellent conflict resolution skills.

Strong workflow organization

General office IT skills.

Experience managing HR and payroll functions within an HRIS / Payroll Software

Microsoft 365/Suite
