Claims Advocates handle the claim process from beginning to end, working closely with the client, insurance carrier, adjuster and claimants as well as colleagues in the underwriting department. They apply acquired job skills and company policies to complete assigned tasks and have a basic working knowledge of principles and practices in this area. Responsibilities
Assist clients of the agency in reporting and monitoring Commercial & Personal lines claims, including taking initial loss notices, routing loss notices to the appropriate insurance company, communicating with insured on adjuster assignments, tracking claim payments, and following claims until closed by the insurance company. Conduct initial reviews of claims for coverage questions, review denials for accuracy, and act as a liaison between insured and the insurance company adjuster. Serve as the contact for adjusters and insured on claims-related issues. Refer complex coverage questions to Risk Manager. Secure loss runs from carriers as requested. Prepare claims information for presentations as requested. Resolve customer claim issues in coordination with Account Executives and Producers to reduce E&O exposure. Provide claims packets to customers and prospects as requested. Read policy forms, understand coverage, and question carriers when necessary. Evaluate and challenge claim reserves in line with industry and claim-specific knowledge. Cooperate with counsel for suit or trial as needed. Active Property & Casualty license or ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire date. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities to interact across all levels. Ability to work independently and achieve high-quality results within stated time constraints. Ability to work as part of a team to achieve goals. Proficiency in MS Office Suite. Applied EPIC experience is a plus. Education/Experience
High School Diploma; Associate degree or higher preferred. 3+ years of claim experience or relevant industry experience. Benefits & Perks

This range reflects Acrisure’s good-faith estimate at the time of posting.
