Overview Position: Managing Principal of Building Sciences. Employment type: Full-time. Reports to: Regional Director. Direct reports: 5-7 technicians, specialists, and managers. Location: Field and onsite (remote/hybrid based on experience). Work schedule: Mon–Fri, 8AM–5PM ET (core hours 9AM-4PM ET).

Responsibilities
Directly supervise assigned technical personnel and provide regular performance reviews, feedback, and appropriate corrective action.
Develop professional-level technical and administrative staff to achieve objectives and create a thriving Service Area structure.
Provide technical expertise on projects.
Support Business Development in scoping and budgeting projects, preparing proposals, and providing technical expertise as needed.
Collaborate with the Regional Director to develop, implement, and continually improve the Building Sciences structure companywide.
Identify opportunities with existing and potential clients and pursue work through networking and referrals.
Manage project administration including financial performance, budgeting, change orders, subcontractor coordination, invoicing, and project documentation.
Act as liaison between clients and regulatory agencies to clarify standards and their impact on projects.
Provide marketing support by updating resumes, preparing project descriptions, and participating in technical presentations and publishable opportunities.
Develop and maintain company templates (proposals, reports, and field forms).
Develop new ways to grow Building Sciences and stay ahead of the competition; improve policies, procedures, and services; and maintain consistent audit procedures for Building Sciences projects.
Provide technical leadership on projects including Indoor Air Quality, Asbestos, Mold, Lead-based Paint, and Sick Building assessments.
Assemble and manage project teams for large and multi-office assignments.
Develop, mentor, and train technical staff through training, project execution, and reviews.
Manage net revenue for annual core and transitional client assignments.
Job Specifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, industrial hygiene, environmental health science, chemistry, or a related field.
Experience:
7+ years in building sciences consulting including two years of management, consulting, and business development experience.
Certifications:
Current professional licensure (Asbestos, Lead) and OSHA Hazwoper 40 Hour Certification and/or General Industry 10 or 30 Hour Certifications are a plus.
Skills:
Strong computer and verbal/written communication skills.
Additional Requirements:
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; ability to travel; physically capable of operating vehicles.
