ESI’s Civil Structural Practice Group is seeking a structural engineer with an established consulting practice in the Midwest region. The candidate should be an established, well-recognized expert in structural engineering, responsible for managing consultative engagements and/or investigations related to structural engineering, construction defects, and damage from natural hazards. Prepare technical reports and presentations and market the Company and self to obtain and maintain the client base. Plan, manage, and coordinate activities for client projects to achieve project goals within time frames and funding parameters. Responsibilities
Prepare and review project proposals or plans to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures, staffing requirements, and resource allocation for project phases. Evaluate and decide whether to accept or decline potential new projects based on all variables. Coordinate with project staff to outline work plans, assign duties, and direct activities to ensure projects progress on schedule and within budgets. Prepare technical, project-related reports and drawings for clients as required. Provide technical advice to project personnel and resolve problems. Conduct well-prepared client presentations and technical conference presentations. Perform marketing and business development to identify potential clients and strategies to grow the client base. Mentor junior consultants in growth and development. Testify in hearings or court proceedings (depositions and/or trials) on behalf of clients, as required. Qualifications
Education Requirements : Civil Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited institution; BS (MS preferred) or equivalent non-US accomplishments. Work Experience : 15+ years of experience as an established expert in structural engineering with large-scale investigations, project management, and technical report writing/production. Computer Skills : Intermediate/advanced skills in Excel, Word, AutoCAD. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations : Licensed Professional Engineer. Physical Demands and Work Environment
Physical demands are representative of those required to perform essential functions, with reasonable accommodations available for disabilities. Occasional standing, walking, climbing stairs and ladders; site inspections may require standing, walking, carrying tools, and working from elevated positions for extended periods.
