Arcadis is seeking a
Structural Engineer
to join our Climate Adaptation and Water Management Team in either New York City or New Jersey (East Windsor or Fair Lawn) areas. As a
Structural Engineer , you will play a key role in delivering engineering and consulting services for a variety of projects, including heavy civil infrastructure, flood risk reduction, marine/waterfront infrastructure resilience, dam safety, and lock and navigation structure design. Role accountabilities
Conduct structural analysis, design, and engineering during construction services for general infrastructure projects, including seismic risk reduction, flood mitigation, climate adaptation and other infrastructure resilience initiatives. Perform structural engineering investigations, calculations, research, and planning within a well-defined scope; research feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and regulatory specifications. Develop calculations, plans, specifications, and other contract documents for construction projects; assist with requests for information and approvals during construction; assist with proposals and define scope during project planning. Collaborate with various engineering disciplines, office and project staff, clients, and subcontractors; communicate clearly and concisely in oral and written form. Exercise judgment on work details and make preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives. Travel may be required for project site visits, client meetings, safety audits, general planning, or overseeing construction activities, depending on project staffing needs. Mentor entry-level and junior structural engineering staff as a key responsibility. Qualifications & Experience
Required Qualifications: 6+ years of relevant experience. Bachelor\'s degree in related discipline. Professional Engineer (PE) registration or ability to obtain within 6 months. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in designing flood walls, flood gates, retaining wall structures, and deep foundations, with experience on Federal and municipal resiliency and/or other large infrastructure projects. A Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is a plus, with progressive experience in infrastructure projects related to water management, flood control, and seismic resilience. Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as STAAD, MathCAD, AutoCAD, and Revit. 10 years of relevant structural experience is also preferred. Why Arcadis?
