Research Scientist Graduate (Foundation Model, Generative AI) - 2025 Start (PhD) Base pay range: $187,040.00/yr - $438,000.00/yr Responsibilities
Conduct cutting-edge research and development in foundation models and multimodal machine learning, especially in generative AI (e.g. image, video, or 3D generation). The primary objective is to research cutting-edge video generation technology through innovation. Develop the foundation model to enhance the strategic advantages for ByteDance products. Explore new downstream products with artificial intelligence technology at its core. Collaborate with the Doubao Vision team to advance research on vision and language, large vision models, and generative foundation models, and contribute to applying technologies to real-world applications. The team focuses on multi-modality foundation models for visual understanding and generation, with a mix of researchers and engineers and a feedback loop to improve foundation technologies. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Final year Ph.D. or recent Ph.D. graduates in Computer Science or related engineering field. Strong algorithms and programming skills; proficient in Python and PyTorch. Ability to work collaboratively with team members. Preferred Qualifications: Publications in top-tier venues such as CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, SIGGRAPH or Multimedia, etc. Hands-on coding experience in deep learning frameworks and large-scale training. For Pay Transparency: The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $187,040 - $438,000 annually. Compensation may vary based on qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Base pay is part of the Total Package and may include bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units. Benefits may vary by employment type and location. Day-one benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance; a 401(k) with company match; paid parental leave; disability coverage; life insurance; wellbeing benefits; and paid holidays, paid sick days, and paid personal time (prorated at hire with tenure-based accruals).
