Job purpose: The Plant Director is responsible for the overall leadership and management of fairlife’s Webster, NY plant; a state-of-the-art, greenfield manufacturing facility planned for start-up in 2025. The Plant Director is fully accountable for meeting Safety, Environmental, Quality, Production, Efficiency, Service Levels and People objectives for the site. This role provides inspiration, direction, coaching and feedback to the plant leadership team to meet the business plan and strategic objectives while fostering the fairlife culture of Believe in Better and a culture of measurement-driven continuous improvement. The Plant Director coordinates, administers, and manages day-to-day operational activities for the production facility, developing and implementing internal operating protocols, policies, and procedures in line with company policy. They will work with the project team during installation, commissioning, and start-up as the site leader upon start-up. Responsibilities
Develop strategic initiatives, projects, plant processes, and management systems to continuously improve safety, quality assurance, productivity, cost savings, environmental stewardship, and customer service Ensure adherence to health and safety policies, GMP policies, and regulatory requirements Collaborate with stakeholders to align production plans with plant capacities and capabilities; refine near-term plans to maximize productivity, quality, and customer service Support development of plant operational budgets, capital budgets, organizational structure, and policies and procedures Build a strong plant leadership team and workforce capable of starting and ramping up a new manufacturing facility Conduct regular meetings with plant employees to communicate business status, goals, performance, policy changes, and opportunities for improvement Develop ramp-up plans, plant KPIs, operational standards, and management routines to meet objectives Provide mechanical, process, and technical problem-solving support to engineers and operators Engage with the workforce at all levels to build trust and reinforce the Believe in Better culture Foster collaboration across the project team and existing fairlife sites to build a World Class Factory Balance short-term goals with long-term objectives Represent the Webster plant as an ambassador, upholding fairlife values with internal and external stakeholders Lead the team in prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment, coordinating with overall supply chain objectives Skills/qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline required Minimum 10 years of Plant Manager or equivalent experience related to duties and responsibilities Dairy or brewing experience preferred; or pharmaceutical, food and beverage experience. Aseptic processing experience a plus Proven ability to mitigate regulatory/safety risk with sensitive materials in a manufacturing setting Proven track record of implementing TPM principles delivering short- and long-term value Proven ability to lead a team with trust and integrity Skilled in examining and re-engineering operations, formulating policy, and implementing new strategies Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with diverse constituencies Ability to make administrative decisions on sensitive issues Ability to assess training and development needs and manage performance Effective written and verbal communication Working knowledge of IT systems (ERP, MRP, MES, SCADA) and business analytics Ability to manage relationships with local government and regulatory officials for compliance with environmental laws and standards Knowledge of budgeting, cost estimation, and fiscal management Ability to handle ambiguity in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment Reports to
Sr. Director, East Manufacturing Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits is offered. Base pay range:
