THE JOB:

The Director of Finance is responsible for managing all finance/accounting, purchasing and IT operations of the organization, including the production of periodic financial reports, oversight of accounting systems and recordkeeping, and management of a comprehensive set of controls and budgets to mitigate risk and ensure GAAP compliance and regulatory requirements. Ensures the integrity of financial statements and coordinates audits by external auditors and regulators. Builds and manages teams, supervises staff in finance-related areas, and ensures adherence to organizational policies and applicable laws. Provides leadership to plan department goals, develop a positive work environment, and promote teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, and mutual respect. Ensures staff receives required training and attends mandatory meetings. Establishes work quality expectations and deadlines. Manages general accounting functions including month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, procurement, shipping & receiving, inventory, variance analysis, project management and fixed asset records. Ensures accurate month-end close and prepares/reviews Balance Sheet reconciliations and key accruals. Prepares annual budget and monthly forecasts, and generates monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports. Reviews revenue reports across departments and analyzes forecasts, costs, and revenues to maximize profitability. May perform or oversee internal audit functions and oversees internal controls to safeguard property assets and accurate financial recording. Audits internal financial controls for compliance with SOPs including purchasing, cash handling, receipts, disbursements, payroll and related records. Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of the accounting area (AR, AP, Credit & Collection, Payroll, General Ledger). Lead, mentor, and train Finance team members; interview, hire, and develop staff; assign work and evaluate performance; address issues and resolve problems. Direct planning of department goals and drive results; create a positive work environment and culture of excellence. Manage month-end close process, prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and related analyses; ensure timely close cycle. Prepare annual budget and monthly forecasts; generate and review financial reports and revenue analyses. Develop and implement internal controls to protect assets and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions. Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements; coordinate audits with external parties. Maintain and improve accounting policies and procedures; optimize organizational structure to improve operations. Oversee tax payments, licenses, permits, and timely renewals; monitor purchases and expenses. Support department heads with financial data interpretation and strategic recommendations to maximize profitability. Respond to information requests from internal and external offices; resolve billing and customer issues with a focus on satisfaction. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred. Eight or more years of related experience with two years of supervisory/management experience in a similar setting. Strong knowledge of GAAP; IT and Purchasing knowledge desired; ability to oversee AR, AP, Payroll, and General Ledger. Experience leading a department and mentoring staff; ability to work in high-volume, time-sensitive environments. Excellent customer service and communication skills; ability to work with diverse guests and resolve issues. Proficiency with accounting software, ERP systems, and MS Office; ability to learn property-specific systems. Ability to work AM/PM shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
