Overview
Backfill for FP&A team. Director – US TV Production FP&A. Onsite in Culver City 3-4 days/week. Exempt FLSA. Sony Pictures Television (SPT) is a leading content provider producing, distributing, and carrying programming worldwide. The TV production financial planning and analysis (FP&A) team sits at the nexus of financial information for SPT. The FP&A team builds financial forecasts, maintains TV ultimates for all of SPT’s domestic productions, and supports business affairs and senior management in deal negotiations and business analysis. The team liaises with other finance groups within the organization, such as production finance, distribution finance, audit, accounting, technical accounting, billings, corporate reporting, residuals & participations, and non-finance groups like the creative, business affairs, and programming teams. The team is looking for a Director to backfill a staff member while on a project.
Responsibilities
Reports directly to the SVP Finance as well as another long standing Director and manages a team of one to two professionals
Responsible for managing the financial planning process, including reviewing ultimates, financial modeling and consolidating for the US TV Production Division. This includes mid-range plan, quarterly forecast, and budget processes
Review series Ultimates for purposes of forecasting, deal analysis, and financial reporting in accordance with IFRS
Works closely with the Senior Management, Strategy & Operations Finance, and Business Affairs team in the financial scenario modeling for content strategy
Maintain appropriate controls within the planning and ultimate process as required
Complete special projects for operations and finance as necessary
Qualifications
BS/BA degree with accounting/finance focus required
8+ years public accounting, consulting, investment banking or Entertainment industry finance/accounting experience required
CPA and/or MBA preferred
Entertainment Experience Preferred
BPC, SAP and/or Essbase knowledge preferred
Management Experience Preferred
Strong MS Excel skills required
Strong Communication Skills Required
Strong accounting / IFRS knowledge preferred
Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects
Detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical and PC skills
Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Excellent oral and written communication skills with all levels of management
