Electrical Project Manager – Data Center Construction
with Field Experience to support a high-profile data center construction project in the Prineville, Oregon area. This individual will oversee the General Contractor’s construction activities, with a strong focus on reporting schedule status back to the project owner. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise from working in the field, strong leadership, and a background in large-scale data center/mission critical works or electrical contracting environments. Role Responsibilities
Effectively manage and collaborate with project stakeholders. Effective communication across the internal team to ensure efficiency and a consistent delivery to the client. Analyze, track, and effectively manage critical milestone activities to avoid schedule slip. Verify that effective project governance, processes and systems are utilized. Ensure application of best practice on all projects. Produce formal project status reports and other reports as required. Monitor the progress of multiple construction projects simultaneously to ensure that the approved design standards are being applied correctly. Manage the interface between all suppliers through monthly trackers and weekly reviews. Manage the flow of project information between the project team through regular meetings and written communications. Forecast and update key project milestones. Manage and monitor local design teams in accordance with commission criteria. Provide technical support to owners, architects, general contractors and regional stakeholders. Rapid response to RFIs from the field. Provide expertise for cost control, value engineering, and constructability guidance where required. Independent review of status reports, drawing submittals, timelines and costs from architects, contractors and suppliers. Client management – assist in developing excellent working relationships with clients, with a view towards maximizing new opportunities. Strategic thinking – provide advice to project teams on approaches to achieve clients’ objectives and business objectives. Knowledge management – ensure that key information and learnings from each project are captured. Process improvement – identify ways to improve internal systems and processes. SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, adhered to where applicable. Program Responsibilities
Oversee all phases of electrical construction, from preconstruction through L5 commissioning. Oversee design coordination, procurement, installation, and closeout of all mission critical systems, with emphasis on electrical support. Ensure alignment with project goals, client expectations, and quality standards. Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment. Maintain clear communication with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders. Oversee and report on works status in the field against the General Contractor’s schedule and report this daily or as required by the owner. Review and provide feedback against the GC contract schedule to mitigate and expose opportunities to avoid impacts to the critical path. Provide subject matter expertise in electrical systems, including substations, transformers, and power distribution. Ensure compliance with design specifications, codes, and industry standards on field walks as part of QA/QC responsibilities. Identify project risks and report feedback on mitigation strategies to the General Contractor and owner. Ensure all electrical work meets quality and safety standards. Manage method of procedure (MOP) review, feedback and execution. Maintain/contribute to the site progress photo log and weekly reporting. Assist in managing the closeout of all CX issues identified in the field with project stakeholders. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Minimum 5+ years of electrical project management experience, ideally in data center construction or with an electrical contractor. Experience with substation and power distribution systems. Familiarity with MEP design. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in project management tools. Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and construction methodologies. Proficiency in the Data Center Commissioning Process (levels 1–5). Proficiency managing construction documents including BODs, specifications, contract drawings, C/D/E’s, equipment submittals and RFIs. Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Procore, P6, CxAlloy, and other construction project management tools. Additional Information
The salary range for this full-time role is $145K-$165K per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on location, experience, and qualifications.
