The Southeast Asian Development Center (SEADC) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to foster a healthy, thriving, and self-sufficient Southeast Asian American community. Founded in 1977 in San Francisco, SEADC provides services to lift children, youth, and families from Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam out of poverty, including jobs, academic support, language services, health and wellness, cultural resiliency, and social guidance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Direct Client Support (75%): Support Youth Development programming with summer and afterschool activities, workshop facilitation, gathering materials for events and projects, and daily closing of activities.

Assist with planning and facilitating weekly workshop curriculum focused on Identity, Leadership, Academic Enrichment, and Health and Wellness.

Assist with monitoring and supervising MYEEP interns and K-8 Youth participants.

Ensure the safety of youth participants in the classroom, on field trips, during walks, and on the bus.

Assist with K-8 activities, including meal service, outdoor recess, and homework help.

Assist with maintaining a clean, stocked, and organized physical program space.

Administrative Support (25%): Enter attendance and client data into databases; edit and update online and hard copy files; create outreach and recruitment flyers/materials; assist supervisor with parent and partner communications; attend external and internal events, trainings, and meetings as needed; perform other duties as assigned.

Note: Monday through Friday in-person programming is required.

Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Skills and Experience — Required

Strong knowledge of reading, writing, and math.

Ability to lead small groups of students with homework support.

Effective behavior management skills.

Strong mentorship, compassion, patience, reliability, and professionalism.

Fluent in spoken and written English.

Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Ability to adapt to new software and participate in development of systems.

Desirable

Experience with data entry and CRM systems (preferably Salesforce).

Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Teams).

Experience working with diverse youth and knowledge of youth development.

Bilingual in a Southeast Asian language (Cambodian, Lao, Vietnamese) or Arabic.

Additional Requirements

Passion for the organization’s mission and values; willingness to travel locally as needed.

Participation in events outside typical work hours (e.g., offsite, staff days, gala).

Fingerprinting background check and negative tuberculosis test clearance before start date.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, bend, reach, stoop, and lift up to 25 lbs; work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to sit or stand at a desk, use a computer, and participate in meetings in person or virtually.

Ability to participate in program activities and events that involve walking and presenting.
