RELI Group is seeking an innovative Emerging Technology Analyst to support Task 8 of the Information Security and Privacy Services (ISPS) under the MSSPSS contract. This role will focus on researching, evaluating, and advising on the application of emerging technologies—such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), automation, and cloud-native security solutions—to enhance cybersecurity, privacy, and risk management for CMS systems including ACA and NST platforms. The Emerging Tech Analyst will identify technology trends, assess applicability to CMS missions, and recommend proof-of-concept solutions that align with Zero Trust Architecture, ARS 5.0, and future CMS security innovation initiatives. Responsibilities
Track and analyze emerging cybersecurity, data protection, and automation technologies relevant to CMS programs Develop reports, technology assessments, and briefings on trends, innovations, and risks associated with new tools and platforms Identify opportunities to enhance CMS security capabilities using AI/ML, automation, cloud-native, or behavior analytics technologies Collaborate with cybersecurity leads, architects, and CMS stakeholders to evaluate feasibility and implementation pathways Conduct comparative analysis and technical recommendations for innovative tools supporting PAM, ZTA, CDM, or threat intelligence functions Support innovation pilots or proof-of-concept efforts, documenting lessons learned and scalability considerations Assist in integrating innovation planning into CMS strategic cybersecurity roadmaps and maturity models Maintain awareness of federal innovation programs, EO guidance, NIST AI RMF, and emerging risk frameworks Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or a related technical field 4+ years of experience in IT innovation, emerging technologies, or cybersecurity transformation roles Familiarity with AI/ML, cybersecurity automation, and federal cloud security practices Ability to assess new technologies and communicate technical opportunities and risks to executive stakeholders Excellent analytical writing, research, and presentation development skills Strong understanding of NIST RMF, ARS 5.0, and Zero Trust concepts Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting CMS or other HHS innovation or digital modernization programs Knowledge of NIST AI Risk Management Framework, EO 14028, or CMS security modernization strategy Certifications such as CompTIA Data+, AWS Cloud Practitioner, or cybersecurity innovation credentials Experience evaluating AI-enabled security tools, behavioral analytics, or data pipeline monitoring solutions Participation in innovation forums, pilot programs, or technical sandbox environments EEO Employer
