Overview
We are currently seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to join our high-growth, fast-paced company. This position will report to the Controller and play a key role in onboarding and supporting acquired agencies with agency management system (AMS) and accounting responsibilities. Desire to work at a growth-oriented business with a focus on acquisitions and integrations is highly valued. The chosen candidate will be a team player and will manage a team of staff accountants and assist with all elements of the accounting function, including production report and accounting reconciliation, general ledger accounting, month-end close and reconciliation of banking transactions. Responsibilities
Manage a team of staff accountants and assist them in efficiently completing their day-to-day duties. Assist the Controller with the integrations process for Superior agencies, including AMS data entry and reconciliation, general ledger and bank statement reconciliation, and ongoing AMS and accounting support as needed. Implement efficient accounting procedures and work with agency employees in executing month-end close in an increasingly complex environment. Optimize relationships with fellow managers, financial institutions, and outside accountants, other professional business partners, and agency principals and employees. Act as mentor to current accounting staff and assist Controller in developing a growing team. Assist in the creation of ad hoc financial analyses for agency partners. Required Criteria
5+ years’ experience working with small to mid-size multi-location companies. Experience at an Accounting Manager level or Team Lead. Experience managing people. Experience with total G/L and Financial Reporting responsibility. Experience building and approving accounting policies and procedures in a high-growth environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including advanced skills), Word, Outlook and preferably Power Point. Must be able to multi-task and meet agreed upon deadlines. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced/high-growth environment. Local to the greater Chicago area. Preferred Criteria
CPA or CMA Private equity experience Proficiency in Applied EPIC and/or AMS360 Insurance industry experience Job Type
