Washington Gas We offer a competitive salary range and comprehensive benefits. This role focuses on fixed asset accounting, regulatory reporting, and close processes within the organization. Responsibilities

Executes analyses for the monthly and quarterly close cycles for internal and external reporting financials. Represents the department to management, before external audiences and auditors. Performs comparative analysis for Public Service commissions (PSCs) and Federal Regulatory reports to ensure accuracy and compliance, documenting methodology used for filings (e.g., FERC FORM 2). Reviews existing processes, identifies opportunities for improvement, and helps implement approved changes. Performs key functions in the Fixed Asset subledger (unitization/non-unitization): closing projects out of CWIP into Plant in service, processing completion notices, running AFUDC (capitalized interest calculation) and RWIP, ensuring cost of removal matches reserve rates in depreciation study. Opens and closes the Fixed Asset subledger (PowerPlant) and ensures subledger reconciles to the general ledger (PeopleSoft). Monitors Construction Work in Progress dollars. Performs accounting and regulatory research and presents findings in cross-functional meetings. Complies with the company’s SOX 404 controls. Other duties to support accounting functions as assigned. Qualifications, Skills And Abilities

Bachelor's Degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or related field 5+ years of experience in accounting or related field 0-2 years of experience in audit, technical accounting or financial reporting preferred Experience researching complex technical accounting issues and drafting white papers preferred CPA designation and/or Big 4 experience Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP and ability to analyze data and solve business problems Ability to meet multiple deadlines and communicate complex issues clearly to diverse audiences Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to influence others Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting systems such as PeopleSoft Compensation & Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $94,000 to $136,000 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off is provided. Company & Equal Opportunity
