Overview
What you will be doing: Provide technical assistance to the section's Tax Auditor by auditing, reconciling and posting the surplus lines transaction reports and Quarterly Reports submitted by surplus lines brokers. The Division of Insurance is a small division that consists of about 48 positions split between Anchorage and Juneau with the Director based in Anchorage and the Deputy Director based in Juneau. This position is on the 9th floor of the State Office Building in downtown Juneau, Alaska. The 9th floor also houses other divisions within the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development. The office consists of floor to ceiling windows that allow natural light to flow in the building. From the 9th floor we can view the Governor's mansion and Juneau's mountain ranges. Education

One year of clerical work experience maintaining records that included using computer systems and performing basic arithmetic calculations. Substitutions
Successful completion of a formal vocational education program in accounting or bookkeeping will substitute for the required experience. Post secondary education from an accredited college will substitute for the required experience (3 semester/4 quarter hours equal one month). Additional Required Information
