Fundraising and Prospect Management

Manage a portfolio of 120-150 prospects that include the most influential, complex, or highest capacity donors. Ensure regular contact with donors through various activities and communications, especially face-to-face visits. Qualify major gift prospects and solicit gifts directly by conducting 10-15 face-to-face visits per month, with a minimum goal of $1M to $2M annually. Identify new major gift prospects and develop and execute cultivation and solicitation plans for gifts primarily $50,000 and above from individuals, corporations, and foundations. Ensure fundraising goals are met by designing and implementing highly specialized activities for portfolio prospects and donors. Lead a comprehensive fundraising plan for the assigned portfolio and University Advancement initiatives. Create, write, implement, and evaluate individualized marketing plans and strategies for cultivation and solicitation of major gifts, gift planning, or corporate/foundation prospects that require innovation. Collaborate with Advancement departments to develop plans and strategies tailored to prospects and donors as appropriate. Identify, develop, initiate, and manage fundraising efforts in support of University Advancement goals for campus cohorts, including current funding priorities, special fundraising initiatives, and the prospect pipeline. Develop strategies for moving prospects from identification to solicitation and closure. Coordinate activities with other development officers and entities to ensure collaboration and outcomes. Direct the efforts of philanthropic volunteers. Write complex proposals for high-value individuals, corporate, and foundation prospects. Develop persuasive written and oral presentations, gift proposals, concept papers, and informal descriptions for presentations to donors. Present formal fundraising proposals to major donors and prospects or prepare senior management for proposals. Meet with administration to identify needs and develop proposals and solicitation methods. Attend functions, meetings, and serve on committees as a representative of the cohort, Advancement, or the University. Work nights and weekends when necessary and travel at least 15% of the time within and outside Georgia.

Donor Recognition & Stewardship

Serve as a resource for the cohort, interacting with prospects, donors, staff, and outside professionals to provide information, advice, and counsel regarding assigned programs. Work with University Advancement leadership and the Offices of Donor Experience and Engagement to develop, implement, and coordinate donor recognition and stewardship opportunities. Collaborate to develop and present reports to donors on the utilization of gift funds, focusing on longer-term outcomes and strategic leveraging of gift funds. Create and evaluate methods for building/maintaining prospect and volunteer constituencies, recruit volunteers, and lead donor relations and stewardship programs ensuring ongoing donor engagement.

Leadership & Administration

Serve as an expert or lead development professional in a cohort area (e.g., major gifts, gift planning, or corporate/foundation relations) and ensure collaboration with Prospect Management & Research, Donor Relations, Gifts & Records, Development IT, and Foundation Accounting to maintain proper records during all fundraising phases.

In Accordance With Division Practices And Procedures

Maintain accurate records for prospects and donors within Ascend CRM. Report the status of pledges and gifts to the Offices of Gifts & Records and Foundation Accounting. Enter and review contact reports, attend prospect management meetings, and compile meaningful reports of Advancement operations for various constituents. Connect with donors related to endowed funds and scholarships, share endowment reports, connect with scholarship students, and engage in other specialized activities. Work cooperatively with university and college/unit leadership, development officers, faculty, staff, and administrative personnel to coordinate successful advancement efforts. Attend and participate in Cohort and Advancement team meetings and related activities as part of the larger campus community. Qualifications

Minimum Hiring Standards

Bachelor's Degree and two years of experience with gifts of $25,000 or more; or a combination of education and experience. Preferred Hiring Qualifications

Proven success as a development officer or related experience in a sophisticated donor-centered fundraising environment as a direct line fundraiser with four or more years of experience. Expert working knowledge of all aspects of fundraising, donor relations, and public relations concepts, principles, procedures, and techniques. Experience in gift policies, solicitations, stewardship, donor recognition, and administration.
