Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices, building scalable data pipelines and full stack systems to create solutions that help meet regulatory needs for the company Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal and external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community, and from time to time, be asked to code or evaluate code Collaborate with digital product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowerment Utilize programming like Java. Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of AWS tools and services Basic Qualifications
Bachelors Degree At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) Qualifications
Master's Degree 7+ years of experience in Java 5+ years of experience building scalable data pipelines that feed Machine Learning models 2+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service 4+ years of experience in open source frameworks 2+ years of experience in Agile practices 2+ years of Spark experience 2+ years of Springboot experience This role does not sponsor new employment authorization for this position. Capital One will not sponsor visa applications for this role. The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries are provided for candidates hired to work in specific locations and reflect the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on hours worked. McLean, VA: $193,400 - $220,700 for Lead Software Engineer Richmond, VA: $175,800 - $200,700 for Lead Software Engineer Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range for that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered will be stated in the offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
