Overview
We’re looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Automation & AI Architect to shape the enterprise automation strategy and technical direction across our global organization. This role sits at the intersection of technology, business, and innovation—balancing hands-on expertise with strategic influence. As the primary solution architect for automation and AI, you’ll work closely with stakeholders to craft impactful solutions that meet real-world business needs while ensuring they are scalable, secure, and maintainable. While our current automation ecosystem is built on Microsoft Power Platform and Azure, we’re seeking someone who can evaluate tools objectively, work across technologies, and guide us toward long-term maturity. You’ll work closely with product owners, solution designers, developers, and leadership to solve real business problems through low-code, RPA, AI/ML, and integration-driven solutions.
Responsibilities
Define scalable, modular solution architectures for automation and AI that align with enterprise goals
Translate ambiguous business challenges into structured, solution-oriented blueprints
Drive platform decisions and roadmap planning—ensuring solutions are resilient, secure, and forward-compatible
Evaluate technologies objectively, recommending tools and approaches that fit enterprise strategy (not just current stack)
Platform & Tooling
Design automation architectures that span platforms—Power Platform, Azure, RPA tools, AI/ML services, data pipelines, etc.
Serve as the primary architect for Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Copilot Studio) and Azure services (Logic Apps, Functions, OpenAI, DevOps) as our current preferred ecosystem
Design and guide ALM, CI/CD, and environment strategies to support automation delivery at scale
Integrate AI and LLM capabilities through services like Copilot extensibility, Azure OpenAI, and cognitive APIs
Governance & Standards
Establish solution review practices, architectural standards, and design guardrails
Define and evolve governance frameworks that balance freedom for citizen developers with compliance and security
Partner with InfoSec and IT operations to design secure connector usage, role-based access, DLP policies, and API security
Business Engagement & Enablement
Lead architectural workshops with business stakeholders to scope solutions, define value, and align expectations
Collaborate with CoE and enablement teams to support citizen developer communities through patterns, playbooks, and mentorship
Act as a strategic partner to business unit leaders, identifying automation and AI opportunities across business functions
Thought Leadership
Stay on top of industry trends, AI tooling, and automation frameworks to help the organization stay ahead of the curve
Provide guidance on the responsible and ethical use of AI and automation
Represent automation architecture in enterprise planning conversations, driving alignment with broader IT strategy
Qualifications
5+ years of experience architecting enterprise-grade automation, AI, or integration solutions
Deep understanding of low-code platforms, RPA, AI/ML, and microservice-based design patterns
Proven experience in platform governance, ALM, and DevOps pipeline design
Strong ability to translate business needs into structured automation roadmaps and technical strategies
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
Strong understanding of enterprise data models, APIs, connectors, and identity frameworks
Ability to mentor developers, guide project delivery teams, and influence without authority
Preferred Experience
Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Copilot Studio, Dataverse)
Microsoft Azure (Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Azure OpenAI, Azure Document Intelligence, Azure AI Search)
RPA Tools (e.g., Power Automate Desktop, UiPath, Automation Anywhere)
AI/ML (Prompt Engineering, LLM integration, AI Builder, custom GPTs, OpenAI API)
API strategy and integration architecture (REST, Graph, Webhooks, Custom Connectors)
Platform enablement (governing citizen dev, scaling internal CoE, creating solution templates and accelerators)
Note:
This version trims extraneous employer-specific postings and legal boilerplate while preserving essential job information about responsibilities and qualifications.
