We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software and Firmware Quality Engineering Manager to lead and manage a team of 6+ Software and Firmware QA Engineers. You will drive the overall quality strategy, ensure best-in-class software and firmware products, and foster a high-performance team culture. You will report to the Head of Software Engineering and work with cross-functional teams including Hardware Development, Product Management, and GTM to ensure a quality-first development lifecycle. In your role as Software and Firmware Quality Engineering Manager Lead at Kohler Ventures you will: Work directly with the Head of Software, software/hardware engineering teams, and product teams Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 6+ Software and Firmware QA Engineers Define and drive quality assurance processes, standards, and best practices across software and firmware development cycles Oversee the deployment and integration of test automation into the CI/CD pipeline Oversee the planning, development, and execution of test strategies, test plans, and test cases for both manual and automated testing Collaborate with Hardware development teams to ensure quality is embedded throughout the SDLC Coordinate and prioritize testing activities to meet release schedules and project milestones Implement and monitor quality metrics and KPIs to assess product quality and team performance Identify and mitigate risks related to product quality and delivery timelines Advocate for continuous improvement in QA practices, tools, and methodologies Participate in release readiness reviews and Scrum meetings to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, estimates, or potential problems, and ensure all quality criteria are met before product launch Skills / Requirements

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, or related field 7+ years of experience as a Software QA Engineer, with at least 3 years in a team management role Experience in development using Python Experience with functional, regression, and end-to-end testing Experience with test automation tools/frameworks such as Appium, Espresso or XCUI Experience validating iOS, Android Ability to translate business requirements into test plans and develop test automation at all layers of the software stack Minimal travel, both domestically and internationally Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Availability to work outside of standard business hours to collaborate with teams and vendors across multiple time zones Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge in software and hardware/firmware and information security for cloud and IoT devices Experience validating embedded firmware for IoT devices #LI-NR1 #LI-Hybrid Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future. The base salary range for this position is $126,900 - $158,600. The actual base salary offered may be higher depending on experience, education, and location. This position may include a Cost of Living Adjustment (ASD) that ranges from 24.5% - 30% for the San Francisco Bay area. The base salary range including ASD is $164,970 - $206,180 depending on location. This position is eligible for a performance bonus and a special project incentive.
