Were seeking a skilled Senior Data Engineer, Database Administrator, or Data Analyst with a strong command of both technical data systems and the nuances of English grammar and composition. This role goes beyond traditional data engineeringit calls for someone who can bring precision, structure, and clarity to metadata standards and documentation. You'll be at the forefront of defining how data is cataloged, interpreted, and accessed across the enterprise, interacting directly with stakeholders to serve as a bridge between complex data systems and the people who rely on them. Key Responsibilities

Design and manage a centralized data catalog that ensures all enterprise data assets are clearly documented, searchable, and aligned with business needs. Lead automation initiatives to improve the efficiency of maintaining the central enterprise data catalog and improve the accuracy and usability of its contents. Develop and apply consistent metadata standards that reflect both technical accuracy and strong language clarity. Partner with data owners, analysts, and IT stakeholders to integrate metadata practices into core platforms, tools, and workflows. Author and refine taxonomies, data definitions, and descriptive content that adhere to grammatical and stylistic conventions to enhance usability. Promote user adoption through training, documentation, and support resources tailored to varying levels of data literacy. Serve as a champion of data governance by aligning metadata efforts with organizational policies and compliance needs. Monitor the quality and completeness of metadata, implementing strategies for improvement where needed. Evaluate and recommend tools to support cataloging and metadata initiatives, ensuring they align with the organizations data ecosystem. Contribute to data integration and migration efforts, ensuring new assets are cataloged appropriately and follow metadata standards. Stay current with trends in data literacy, cataloging tools, and metadata management best practices to drive continuous improvement. Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Management, or a related discipline. 9+ years of experience in data engineering, metadata management, or database administration, with at least 2 years of direct responsibility for data cataloging or stewardship. Expertise in the creation of physical, conceptual and logical data models at both the system and enterprise level. 2+ years' experience in configuring and supporting Collibra, including training in and practical knowledge of Collibra workflows. Expertise with database and data analysis platforms, such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server and Databricks, including experience in data integration, querying, and performance optimization across these environments. Expertise of the IT systems development life cycle and extensive practical experience in developing and maintaining software Expert knowledge of the IT systems development life cycle Extensive practical experience in developing and maintaining software, especially in Java. Expert knowledge in the design of transactional and dimensional data stores, and data integration (ETL processes) Experience in maintaining software in Linux Strong SQL and data modeling background, with familiarity across structured and semi-structured data sets. Outstanding writing and editing skills, with the ability to create clear, concise metadata descriptions using consistent style and tone. Demonstrated ability to work across departments and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. Preferred Qualifications

Experience leading or participating in enterprise-wide data governance or quality initiatives. Experience in enterprise data migrations, system integrations, or cloud data platforms. Knowledge in implementing agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban on a project team Exposure to information architecture or technical writing standards. Experience in the creation of IT data exchanges that adhere to NIEM-based data structures and architectures, as well as experience in the creation of NIEM Domains. Experience in implementing automated testing and DevOps or DevSecOps Knowledge of industry frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK, DCAT, or ISO 11179. About Us
