Director of Financial Aid

Schedule:
Full-time, Monday–Friday onsite
Key Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day administration of all financial aid programs in compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations
Supervise and mentor financial aid staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing office environment
Manage systems setup and integration annually in collaboration with IT (including PeopleSoft, Ellucian, Colleague, Touchnet, StarRes, Federal Perspective Content)
Ensure accurate reconciliation and reporting using tools like Excel; review, sort, and interpret complex data
Participate in cross-departmental committees and partner with other campus units
Develop policies and procedures that support strategic enrollment and retention goals
Advocate for students’ financial needs and support accessibility through proactive communication and outreach
Provide insight and leadership in the development of operational efficiencies and technology utilization
Support HR-related functions using Paycom
Engage in planning and preparation for the academic calendar and quarter system
Maintain compliance standards and prepare for audits and federal reporting
Qualifications
Prior experience as a Director or Assistant Director in a college or university financial aid office highly preferred
Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor, guide, and inspire a team
Deep understanding of federal, state, and institutional aid programs
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Experience working in a quarter system or similarly fast-paced academic calendar is a plus
Technical proficiency with financial aid systems and reporting tools; Excel proficiency is essential
Knowledge of: PeopleSoft, Ellucian, Colleague, Touchnet, StarRes, and federal financial aid platforms
Strong interpersonal and communication skills – must be personable, approachable, and student-focused
