Real Estate Private Equity Search || Former Professional Athlete Company:

Our client is a vertically integrated, privately held real estate investment firm. Since its inception in 2001, the firm has acquired, developed, and invested in over 150 projects, amassing a portfolio and pipeline of over 20k multifamily units as well as select commercial projects. They are a dynamic, entrepreneurial company that values self-starters and a collaborative, non-hierarchical culture.

The Role

As a Vice President of Acquisitions, you will be a key leader in the sourcing, underwriting, and execution of new real estate investment opportunities. Reporting to senior leadership, you will be responsible for originating deals across our client\'s target markets, with a focus on ground-up development and value-add multifamily projects. This is a hands-on role for a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses a strong network.

Key Responsibilities

Deal Sourcing & Origination:

Actively identify and source new investment opportunities in primary markets through an extensive network of brokers, owners, and developers. Build and maintain strong relationships to create a robust deal pipeline.

Underwriting & Financial Analysis:

Lead the financial modeling and underwriting of potential acquisitions using advanced techniques. Create complex financial models to analyze sophisticated waterfall cash flows, conduct feasibility studies, and prepare investment memoranda for internal and external partners.

Due Diligence & Execution:

Oversee the end-to-end due diligence process for acquisitions, including market research, property analysis, third-party reports, and legal documentation. Manage all aspects of the transaction from letter of intent (LOI) to closing.

Strategy & Leadership:

Assist senior management in refining the firm\'s investment strategy, identifying new market trends, and leading the execution of business plans. This role will involve providing mentorship and guidance to junior team members.

Capital Markets:

Support capital markets activities, including preparing presentations for debt and equity partners and assisting with project capitalization.

Qualifications & Experience

Experience:

A minimum of 6+ years of experience in real estate acquisitions, with a proven track record of successfully sourcing and closing multifamily and/or commercial deals in a principal-side role.

Education:

Bachelor\'s degree in Finance, Real Estate, or a related field. An MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.

Technical Skills:

Expert proficiency in financial modeling, including advanced Excel skills and a strong command of Argus.

Interpersonal Skills:

Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. A proven ability to build and maintain a strong network within the commercial real estate industry.

Mindset:

A high-energy, ambitious self-starter with a strong work ethic and professional maturity. Must be able to work independently and thrive in an entrepreneurial environment with a high degree of autonomy.
