We are actively seeking a Senior Complex Claims Consultant to enhance our Financial Lines Claims team. Your primary focus will be on managing high-stakes D&O and E&O claims for Public Companies and Financial Institutions, including large depository institutions, insurance firms, and investment advisors. You will take charge of investigating and managing complex professional liability claims that involve significant technical challenges and require coordination across multiple teams and aspects. Key Responsibilities: Oversee a portfolio of highly complex litigated claims with large financial exposures, ensuring meticulous policy coverage verification, investigations, and development of resolution strategies. Deliver exceptional customer service through comprehensive claim management and professional communication, meeting quality and cycle time standards. Review policy language and collaborate with coverage counsel to establish adequate reserves and accurate claim valuations. Lead investigations focused on liability and damages, collecting pertinent documentation to verify facts. Work collaboratively to create and execute effective claim resolution strategies, negotiate settlements, and manage litigation alongside counsel. Establish and control claim budgets, authorizing expenses while ensuring high service quality. Identify and recommend subrogation, salvage, or potential fraud cases for further investigation. Maintain accurate claims management records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company protocols. Keep senior leadership informed of significant risks and prepare detailed loss summaries for management review. Mentor and train junior claims professionals, sharing your expertise and knowledge. Skills & Qualifications: Extensive technical expertise in claims resolution and insurance principles, with a demonstrated ability to handle litigated matters effectively. In-depth knowledge of commercial insurance products, policy language, and claim practices. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Analytical mindset with strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities. Proactive work ethic with effective time management skills in a fast-paced environment. Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex issues simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the capacity to learn new software. Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience; a Juris Doctorate is preferred. A minimum of six years of relevant experience in Professional Liability claims or law firm exposure is essential. Must obtain and maintain an Insurance Adjuster License within 90 days of hire where applicable. Previous negotiation experience and professional designations (e.g., CPCU) are preferred.
