Overview
Position Summary
The Director of Capital Design and Construction manages Planning, Design and Construction for The Valley Health System. The Director will coordinate and manage all facility development projects activities from inception to completion. The Director is responsible for the municipal and state approvals required for all new construction and renovation of existing facilities. The Director is responsible for overseeing the adherence to applicable regulatory codes, including all regulatory standards, providing planning, design and construction guidance and information during the development of departmental business plans and manages all consultants. The Director will also support leadership and will be required to develop concepts and plans for facility growth or change in service as well as capital upkeep and replacement. This individual will oversee necessary design, consultants and construction contracts to progress design and construction and ensure coordination with the various facilities. This position is intended to support all physical plant construction, renovation, restoration, and major repair programs at any facility associated with The Valley Health system operations. Ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in building systems and construction methods specifically in the health care clinic environment.
Education
4 Year Bachelor\'s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related field, required
Professional licensure (Registered Architect, Professional Engineer) or related industry certifications (i.e. CHFM, PMP, LEED AP) preferred.
Experience Minimum 10 years experience in design and construction with at least 10 years in a healthcare setting, required
Skills
Proven ability to lead and motivate a project management team, manage performance and foster a collaborative environment.
Proven leadership in managing complex hospital projects, required
Strong understanding of healthcare codes, standards and construction methodologies, required
Ability to present and communicate with senior leadership teams, including board-level committees, required
Knowledgeable In: Healthcare, Long Term Capital Planning, Management, Construction Management, Budget Management, Time Management, Negotiations, Regulatory (NFPA, TJC, DOH, FGI, ADA).
Preferred Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills, Excellent technical, conceptual, and financial skills, Ability to motivate team efforts to accomplish goals, Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and methods of healthcare and space management.
Computer Programs/Software Operated: Microsoft Word and Excel (required), Microsoft Access, MS Project, Auto CADD/Revit, Procore/E-builder or similar

Salary: Starting range listed may reflect a portion of total compensation; actual salary depends on role, experience, education, and licensure. Pay Range: $152,380.80 - $190,476.00
