Lead major, minor and miscellaneous projects in the Electrical Engineering function and/or manage professional Electrical Engineering work involving considerable independence, originality, ingenuity and judgement, with knowledge across multiple fields or a specialist area. The Principal Electrical Engineer is responsible for the progress and quality of assigned tasks within the Electrical Engineering discipline, including supervision of Senior Electrical Engineers, Electrical Engineers and Junior Electrical Engineers. All electrical engineering and design work is performed in accordance with agreed codes and practices and contract requirements, within agreed schedules, budgets and procedures as per Worley’s Engineering Governance Standard. Engineering and design work is conducted independently in accordance with the Technical Stewardship Standard (TSS). Demonstrate a very high level of technical competence, coordination, planning, estimating and technical leadership. Key Responsibilities

Electrical Engineering and Design/Technical expertise : Provide expert knowledge to conceptual engineering, pre-feasibility design (FEL2), basic engineering (FEL3) and detailed design. Interpret and apply relevant international/national codes and standards and client specifications. Provide technical direction and control of Electrical Engineering work on projects. Liaise with customer discipline representatives to establish technical direction where not provided by contract or codes/standards. Coordinate with other project discipline Lead Engineers on technical issues and engineering matters, including issues not covered by design codes or standards. Develop and improve company standards and design methods; execute work with other key stakeholders. Complete complex electrical design activities, including advanced analysis; participate in media and Worley Global discipline activities; identify process improvements (PIs) for review and potential implementation. Review and approve complex electrical design deliverables; use software tools as applicable; publish articles in engineering media and contribute to global electrical discussions. Project Execution and Proposal/Business Development : Lead Electrical Engineering activities on major, minor and miscellaneous projects; establish scope of work; perform electrical design activities including calculations, datasheets, requisitions, BOMs, technical bid evaluations, design criteria, Basis of Design input and related documents. Support National Discipline Manager Electrical Engineering to establish project scope and manpower schedules; schedule and expedite work; implement planning, scheduling, cost control and engineering governance during design phases. Review and approve technical documentation; review vendor data for compliance and integration; identify new technology developments for cost-effective facilities or solutions. Ensure completion of technical documentation to as-built status and handover to document control for archiving; coordinate input to essential Electrical Engineering documents per DTDP; perform customer site visits where applicable; assist with business development and marketing. Technical Stewardship and SEAL compliance : Ensure compliance with engineering codes, standards, procedures, quality plans and Worley policies; perform technical peer reviews and provide remediation recommendations; assist in QA audits/technical due diligence of contractors and vendors; deliver HSE standards across the discipline including Safety in Design (SID) and sustainable design practices; adhere to safe working practices and applicable health and safety legislation. Financial/Cost Management : Promote cost reduction and productivity, manage man-hours and ensure quality work within budget. Staff Management and Performance : Manage project staff workload and deliverables; interface with departmental staff, management and customers. Learning and Development : Pursue professional development; mentor electrical engineers; share knowledge. Minimum Qualifications

BSc, BEng, BTech or MSc in Electrical Engineering from a recognised institution. Registered as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist with ECSA. Experience

Extensive post-qualification experience in electrical engineering with design, operations and project execution. Experience across Mining, Minerals and Chemicals, Hydrocarbons, Power and Public Infrastructure. Proven ability to lead complex engineering projects and teams through execution phases.
