Overview
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for the preparation of monthly, quarter-end and year-end financial statements as they pertain to general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, and bank accounts. Responsibilities
Preparation and posting of journal entries to the General Ledger. General Ledger Account Reconciliations. Responsible for General ledger maintenance. Responsible for Fixed Assets and Fixed Asset ledger Maintenance. Review of Staff Accountant Journal Entries and accuracy prior to posting to General Ledger. Review of Staff Accountant General Ledger reconciliations for accuracy and balancing. Assist in the month-end General Ledger closing process to ensure financial statements are accurate and thorough. Assist in the timely preparation and reporting of all monthly financial information. Prepare and print month end reports on all profit centers. Assist Controller with various daily / monthly banking related transactions and reviews. Assists Controller in the coordination and execution of the fiscal year-end audit. Provide backup support to the Accounts Payable Department. Provide training and assigns work to Staff Accountants as required. Maintenance of effective relations with other administrative and operations departments. Compliance and Casino internal controls, policies and procedures as they pertain to this position. Maintain confidentiality of all casino operations data. Perform all other duties as assigned and directed. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Knowledge of budget and procurement practices and procedures. Knowledge of computerized accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to solve problems while exhibiting sound judgement. Ability to evaluate and modify accounting systems, procedures, records, and controls. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and departments. Ability to organize information and communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to use personal computers and application software. A minimum of 2-3 years overall accounting experience. Education
High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor's Degree (BA / BS) in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance and / or combination of education and experience is highly preferred. License Requirements
Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen, background investigation, and maintain a Pauma Gaming Commission License. Physical / Mental Requirements
