Technical Revenue Accounting - Seattle at Anthropic. Join our Accounting Team to execute technical accounting evaluations for deal structuring, lead partnership and marketplace revenue recognition initiatives, and drive large-scale process and system improvements. Work cross-functionally to solve complex problems and impact the financial infrastructure of an innovative company. Responsibilities
Own end-to-end marketplace revenue recognition process including reconciling marketplace reports, performing accurate revenue recognition, and ensuring completeness and accuracy of all partnership transactions Provide technical accounting guidance for partnership marketplace agreements and programs, ensuring proper revenue recognition treatment and prepare technical memos Lead large-scale process improvement and system implementation projects with internal and external stakeholders, building scalable processes to support growth Provide technical accounting expertise, partnering with Legal, GTM Finance, and Sales on revenue guidance throughout the deal lifecycle Review revenue contracts and prepare checklists, month-end JEs, and technical accounting memos to ensure ASC 606 compliance under supervision Prepare for revenue-related month-end close activities and flux analysis Maintain and follow revenue recognition policies and procedures Conduct technical research on complex accounting matters and present findings for new products and GTM strategies Build and maintain cross-functional relationships to drive collaboration Educate business partners to understand revenue implications in clear terms Qualifications
10+ years of progressive accounting experience with significant focus on revenue recognition Experience with cloud marketplace revenue models, including gross vs. net revenue recognition and partner revenue share Experience with partnership agreements and understanding accounting implications of reseller, referral, and marketplace models Proven experience leading large-scale cross-functional projects with external partners and vendors Strong knowledge of ASC 606 with deal structuring and contract review Experience preparing technical accounting memos and revenue recognition policies Hands-on experience with revenue recognition tools (e.g., NetSuite ARM, Workday FM, Zuora RevPro) Strong communication skills and ability to influence diverse stakeholders Thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments Preferred/Strong Candidates
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred Experience with major cloud marketplace platforms and their billing/settlement processes Experience with deal desk or similar advisory work Experience with consumption-based and subscription-based revenue models Salary and Location
Annual Salary: $190,000 - $230,000 USD Location: Seattle, WA (hybrid policy) Logistics
Education requirements: at least a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, staff are expected to be in one of the offices at least 25% of the time, with some roles requiring more time Visa sponsorship: Anthropic sponsors visas.
