The MacArthur Foundation is seeking a Senior Analyst for Real Assets and Sustainable Investments to support the management of the Foundation’s diversified portfolios. This role involves working closely with the Managing Director to oversee real estate, natural resources, and sustainable investments, which comprise about 10% of the Foundation’s endowment. The position demands active participation in various portfolio management aspects, including sourcing and evaluating prospective opportunities and performance monitoring of existing investments. Responsibilities
Participate in all aspects of portfolio management including sourcing, evaluating, selecting, and monitoring investment managers for the portfolio. Proactively search for potential investment opportunities. Meet with prospective investment managers. Conduct appropriate market and investment research. Perform investment and operational due diligence. Prepare documentation and presentations associated with new and follow-on investments. Monitor the performance and activities of the Foundation’s real asset and sustainable portfolio. Manage the financial reporting of the portfolio, including return reconciliation and performance attribution. Coordinate and manage administrative support related to the Real Assets and Sustainable portfolios. Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field; advanced degree or master’s preferred. Progress toward a professional credential (e.g. CFA charter holder) is a plus. At least five years of work experience, including at least three years in investment, with understanding of real estate and/or private equity investments preferred. Strong understanding of capital markets and diverse investment strategies. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong MS Office skills; proficient in Excel. A self-starter with intellectual curiosity and deep interest in investing. Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research. High ethical standards and integrity.
