Overview
The NetSuite Functional Consultant is responsible for the implementation, customization, and support of NetSuite for manufacturing clients, with a specialized focus on the costing module. This role requires a blend of business process knowledge, hands-on NetSuite configuration skills, and the ability to translate business needs into effective ERP solutions. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in manufacturing processes, inventory, and cost accounting within the NetSuite platform. Key Responsibilities
Implementation and solution design Lead and conduct comprehensive discovery sessions to understand clients' manufacturing processes, pain points, and business requirements. Perform gap analyses and map client requirements to standard NetSuite functionality. Design and document scalable and efficient NetSuite solutions, focusing on manufacturing, inventory management, and costing. Configure and customize NetSuite modules, including Advanced Manufacturing, to meet client needs. Costing module expertise
Configure and manage NetSuite's costing module, including setting up costing methods such as LIFO, FIFO, and average costing. Define cost templates for manufacturing operations to accurately track costs associated with labor, materials, and overhead. Implement and manage NetSuite's Work in Process (WIP) functionality and routings to track production progress and costs. Ensure accurate allocation and tracking of costs to specific jobs or projects for profitability analysis. Manufacturing processes
Implement and support core NetSuite manufacturing features such as Work Orders, multi-level Bills of Materials (BOMs), and production scheduling. Optimize Demand Planning and Supply Planning (MRP) to improve inventory control and reduce costs. Implement and configure the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Advanced Inventory features. Enable and configure the Quality Management System (QMS) for manufacturing checks and compliance. Training and support
Conduct user training sessions and workshops for clients on NetSuite's manufacturing and costing functionalities. Provide post-implementation support, address issues, and manage system enhancements to ensure client satisfaction. Collaboration
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, developers, and project managers to ensure successful project delivery. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to guide junior consultants and advise clients on best practices. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field. 5+ years of hands-on experience as a NetSuite Functional Consultant, with a strong focus on manufacturing and costing. Proven experience leading NetSuite implementations in the manufacturing vertical. Deep functional knowledge of manufacturing business processes, cost accounting, and supply chain management. Expertise in configuring NetSuite modules, including Advanced Manufacturing, Advanced Inventory, and the costing capabilities. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills. NetSuite certifications (e.g., SuiteFoundation, ERP Consultant, or specific module certifications) are highly preferred.
