Overview
Director, Partnerships & Commercialization – Disney Games & Digital Entertainment. The Walt Disney Company seeks a strategic, entrepreneurial, and collaborative leader to drive key aspects of the partnership with Epic Games in the development of an expansive new Disney digital universe connected to Fortnite. This role will lead the commercial strategy, planning, and long-term relationship management with Epic, working cross-functionally across product, content, legal, marketing, and executive teams to bring this next-generation experience to life for fans around the world. This position reports to the VP, Strategy & Commercialization for Disney Games & Digital Entertainment. Responsibilities
Act as the primary day-to-day business lead between Disney & Epic Games, ensuring alignment across shared objectives, timelines, and KPIs. Develop and evolve the commercial strategy for Disney x Epic experiences, including business models, deal structures, monetization frameworks, and go-to-market planning. Drive cross-functional coordination across product, content, legal, and marketing teams to lead deal negotiation and ensure smooth execution of joint initiatives. Identify and pursue new opportunities with Epic and third-party developers that support the games roadmap and expand fan engagement and revenue potential. Partner with internal games leadership to shape product strategies that maximize player engagement, monetization, and franchise value. Track and manage performance across the portfolio, including revenue, profitability, and return on investment. Build strong partnerships across Epic Games, Disney Games & Digital Entertainment, and broader TWDC teams to unlock interdependencies and foster collaboration. Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations and materials to communicate progress, impact, and opportunity areas. Required Qualifications
10+ years of executive leadership experience in business development, partnerships, or commercial strategy, with a strong track record in the games or entertainment industry. Proven experience negotiating, structuring, and executing complex deals, including co-development, licensing, and commercial agreements in the gaming space. Demonstrated ability to drive business growth through strategic partnerships or third-party collaborations. Deep understanding of the games industry ecosystem, including live service operations, UGC, monetization models, and platform dynamics. Strong analytical and financial skills, with experience building business cases, forecasting, and tracking performance metrics. Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills, with ability to articulate complex strategic initiatives to executive leadership and partners in a thoughtful and persuasive manner. Comfortable navigating large, matrixed organizations to align on goals and manage multi-stakeholder relationships. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, while managing multiple high-priority initiatives with accelerated timelines. The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $182,700.00 to $245,000.00 per year. The base pay offered will consider internal equity and may vary based on geographic region, knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided, in addition to medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on level and position offered.
