In this role, you’ll join Kuiper's Structural Integrity and Analysis team as a Liaison Engineer to innovate and solve engineering issues that arise during Kuiper production operations leading to every flight of our constellation of satellites. You will work on the shop floor with Manufacturing and Quality teams to develop engineering dispositions related to non-conformances. You will work hard, have fun, and make history! The Liaison Engineer must have Material Review Board (MRB) experience in aerospace programs, and the ability to balance engineering judgment with analysis rigor when appropriate. Key responsibilities
This position will work 2nd shift, 4:00pm-2:00am, 4 days a week back half Wednesday-Saturday Review and disposition non-conformance events of the spacecraft and its ground support equipment across all phases of Kuiper operations: procurement, storage, handling, manufacturing, assembly, testing, transportation, final integration, launch and orbital operations Develop standard repairs, rework procedures, propose design for manufacturing (DFM) improvements, improved processes and work instructions Conduct root cause investigations and develop corrective actions Document static, dynamic and fatigue stress analyses when needed to support dispositions, interpreting established structural analysis reports Develop analysis methods to address common non-conformances Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering experts to provide root cause failure analyses Interact with internal customers, external customers, and suppliers About The Team
The Liaison Engineering team is part of the Kuiper Structural Integrity and Analysis teams (Structural Analysis, Loads and Dynamics, Materials and Processes and Reliability) and is responsible for the integrity of the spacecraft and related commodities. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience 3+ years of demonstrated experience in a Liaison Engineer / MRB role with aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structures Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production Experience with project management of technical projects Strong fundamentals in statics, dynamics, modal, frequency response, random vibration, sine and acoustic analyses/tests Experience with fatigue and fracture analyses Knowledge of spacecraft technology and related primary, secondary and tertiary structures Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing Strong understanding of ANSI Y14.5M-1994 (drawing interpretation) Experience with Siemens Teamcenter, NX, NX Nastran Compensation and Benefits
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,600/year to $185,000/year, depending on location and experience.
