Base pay range $75,000.00/yr - $115,000.00/yr Seeking an Electrical Engineer who is highly motivated to join our team. The successful candidate must have the desire or design experience in projects for commercial and residential facilities with the highest level of quality, cost effectiveness, and a focus on safety. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of other licensed engineers and experienced designers to design power distribution, motor control, and lighting systems for a variety of project types that include multifamily residential high rise, senior living facilities, health care facilities, tenant improvement/buildout, and rehab of existing buildings.
Responsibilities
Electrical designs for low voltage electrical power distribution systems
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors on new construction/renovation projects
Desire to read and interpret design drawings and specifications. Experience preferred.
Engineering for power, lighting, fire alarm, structured cabling / low voltage, security / access control, paging / AV, etc.
Includes receptacle layouts, other power connections to equipment furnished by other trades (M, P, FP, etc.), elevators, food service, etc.
Desire to perform electrical distribution design including incoming power from utility poles, pad mount transformers and service vaults under the supervision of other licensed engineers.
Desire to perform emergency electrical service design including generators (stand alone and paralleled sets), paralleling gear design, transfer switches, UPS systems, etc. under the supervision of other licensed engineers.
Desire to perform supporting engineering calculations including service load calculations, short circuit and voltage drop calculations, coordination studies, etc. under the supervision of other licensed engineers.
Desire to learn and incorporate CEC, NEC, NFPA and other building code knowledge in their designs under the supervision of other licensed engineers. Experience preferred.
Qualifications
1-4 years experience
Design of low and/or medium voltage power, SKM or Easy Power, load flow analysis, and the design of electrical engineering drawings.
Multi-discipline projects involving Owners, General Contractors, and Contractors.
Understanding of Engineering and Construction.
Modifications to existing facilities and the interpretation and incorporation of existing electrical drawings into new designs.
Reviewing and updating electrical system models.
Proficient with written and verbal technical communication.
Extensive working knowledge of electrical construction industry.
Ability to understand all types of drawings and technical specifications.
Knowledge of the National Electrical Code, Chicago Electrical Code, and fire alarm and other systems.
