Summary: Working with senior design staff, you will assist in solving major and complex engineering problems in one or more phases of a developmental project involving analysis, research design, hardware circuit design, board bring up, development, fabrication and/or testing of a device or system. The electrical engineer will use schematics, FPGA design and debug tools to achieve daily work tasks. Conducts the development of each assignment, coordinating engineering personnel assigned to each activity applicable to the particular assignment. Has some latitude for unreviewed action or decision; assignments are broad in nature usually requiring appreciable originality and ingenuity. Responsibilities
Help design, develop, modify and evaluate complex devices and/or systems. Assist in conceiving methods and alternatives for satisfying product goals, specifications and requirements of the project/assignment. Perform original complex analysis and design work of system and component parts in accordance with specifications. Design or select commercially available equipment, coordinate design results with other design groups; collaborate with other engineers to evaluate design merits and make changes accordingly. Conduct independent technical investigations involving origination or modification of material, components, or process specifications and requirements. Evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services. Assist in preparation of bids and proposals as required. Circuit design and debugging experience with SBCs, CPUs, microprocessors, memory (DDR), SOC, FPGA (VHDL), and bus protocols (PCIe, I2C, SPI). Qualifications
BS in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline. 3-8 years’ experience required. Language Skills
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills are required for effective interface with all internal and external contacts. Other Skills and Abilities
Must have experience using test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers). Excellent analytical skills. Must be able to work with versatility and flexibility in a multi-task environment.
