ATTORNEY TALENT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
on our Attorney Talent team! This role can be based in Austin, Boston, New York or Washington, D.C. About the role About the Role
Supports attorney integration. Establishes ongoing touch points with assigned first year and lateral cohorts, including one-on-one check ins, regular office hours and/or group coaching. Builds community and implements structures to develop strong relationships with the first year and lateral cohorts. Creates position and resource awareness among summer associates, associates, and partners through email communication, personal outreach, and office visits. Promotes the firm’s culture of L&D as a market differentiator to attorneys. Promotes awareness of the performance expectations in the MyMoFo career path structure to guide associates in assessing their development and setting goals to achieve success. Works with local leadership to promote attorney engagement and morale; implements related plans and strategies. Partners with Associate Committee members to promote transparency and open communication between non-partner attorneys and local and firm leadership. Supports local committee members in developing as leaders within the firm. Attends local and firm-wide Associate Committee meetings. Guides and supports attorneys and local offices in areas of performance management and talent development, including requests for resources, coaching, and guidance for associates on career development matters. Works closely with assigned Practice Groups to ensure preparation and delivery of evaluations consistent with firm standards for the spring, interim, and annual evaluation process. About You
JD with minimum four years of practice experience at a major law firm. Strong background in Learning and Development in a professional services environment preferred, including experience in talent management and instructional design. Ability to apply effective independent judgment and decision making. Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation. Understanding of the business of law firms and how best to create strategic learning opportunities to further business goals. High level of emotional intelligence – ability to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically. Ability to keep confidential information, observations or viewpoints regarding firm personnel or matters with a high degree of professionalism. Ability to build strong relationships among personnel in different offices. Advanced communication skills, with the ability to interact substantively with all individuals in the firm. Ability to present ideas comfortably in public fora, including excellent group facilitation skills. Keen sense of accountability, taking ownership over projects and responsibilities and resolving issues proactively. About MoFo
