— Parks & People works to sustain and improve Baltimore’s parks and open spaces through public-private partnerships. Since 1984, P&P has invested in green park projects to revitalize neighborhoods and provides programs for children, youth and adults to learn, grow, and explore their natural environment. Our vision is to ensure that everyone in Baltimore is connected to nature, their community and each other through vibrant parks and green spaces. We support an annual operating budget of $5 million through a comprehensive development program. The Director of Finance serves as Parks & People’s chief finance officer, ensuring that all financial statements (e.g., income statement, balance sheet, cash flow projections, AR and AP aging reports, and monthly bank reconciliations) are reviewed monthly with the CEO and quarterly with the Board of Directors. This role also serves as the primary point of contact with the outsourced accounting vendor, auditing firm, investment manager, board finance and audit committee, and the board investment committee. The Director of Finance is part of the senior leadership team and works closely with other members of the senior team. The role ensures that Parks & People has the systems and procedures in place to support effective program implementation, annual budgeting, grant financial reporting, and clean audits. Responsibilities

Act as the organization’s chief finance officer, overseeing financial statements and reporting. Review monthly financial statements with the CEO and quarterly with the Board of Directors. Serve as the primary liaison with the outsourced accounting vendor, auditing firm, investment manager, and board finance/audit committees. Collaborate with the senior leadership team to ensure systems and procedures support program implementation, budgeting, grant reporting, and clean audits.

Qualifications

Experience in nonprofit financial management, including financial reporting, budgeting, and audits. Ability to coordinate with external partners (accounting vendor, auditors, investment manager) and internal leadership. Strong leadership skills and capacity to operate as part of a senior management team.
