At Dollywood Parks & Resorts, we create memories worth repeating. We do this every day across Dollywood Resorts which includes over 600 rooms and 15 Food & Beverage outlets, all located in the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee. Our plan is to grow our resort footprint to over 1200 rooms across five resorts at Dollywood and to add other resorts to our overall company resort portfolio. We are seeking an energetic Director of Catering & Conference Services who will embody the heart and soul of our mission of creating memories worth repeating while caring deeply about our brand and our region. This person is driven to create meaningful experiences for our hosts, guests, and community while simultaneously ensuring the success and profitability of our unique culinary and event offerings. The right candidate will bring the vision of the Dollywood Resorts to life, with a balance of curiosity, innovation, administration, mentorship and motivation. Responsibilities

Accountable for the overall management and revenue success of our catering and event services across the Dollywood Resorts campus, including DreamMore Resort & Spa and HeartSong Lodge & Resort Lead and coordinate a team of catering and event specialists to sell and execute each event with passion and excellence aligned to company values; drive high NetPromoter Scores and future repeat business Strategically collaborate with the area sales team to maximize event space, revenue and profitability Review and approve contracted services to ensure proper contribution to profits Maintain dependable attendance and flexibility with assigned schedules, including overtime, evenings, weekends and holidays Ensure effective communication with banquet teams, F&B and other resort operating departments on group expectations, event execution, product quality, and overall success Assist in development of annual group sales plan and banquet/catering revenue goals Solicit meeting/event clients for overnight groups, day functions and special events to maximize sellable space across area hotels Manage weekly BEO and resume meetings to communicate with hotel operations Develop and manage service standards for all banquet events and meetings; contribute ideas for innovative F&B displays to maximize revenue Upsell contracted groups with larger F&B options; maximize third-party Audio/Visual relationships for profitability Conduct site inspections and creatively sell both hotels using traditional spaces and flexible venues Interview, hire, train, develop, empower, coach, counsel, resolve problems and conduct performance reviews as appropriate Identify trends, research competitors, and develop strategic business plans Participate in industry organizations and community events to create booking opportunities Utilize strong sales techniques, including closing and negotiating, with a track record of prospecting; participate in trade shows and sales activities Education And Experience

Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Hospitality Management preferred but not required Four (4) years of resort and/or full-service catering and sales experience preferred Good working knowledge of Delphi (fdc), Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and CRM system preferred Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Ability to analyze, forecast data, and make judgments to ensure proper business is booked Strong communication, listening, facilitation and problem-solving skills; computer skills and financial acumen Reflect Dollywood’s image by being genuinely friendly, caring, and proud of work Understand and meet guest needs within company guidelines Lead with Dollywood values: patience, kindness, humility, respect, selflessness, honesty, and commitment Ability to make a positive impression with guests, vendors, and coworkers Self-motivated, disciplined, and able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines Maintain confidentiality and a commitment to continuous improvement Professional appearance and good personal hygiene; contribute to a team-oriented environment Able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities Effective communication, problem solving, conflict management and interpersonal skills Able to work with diverse teams and resolve conflicts Able to operate with standard English grammar and punctuation Able to tolerate outdoor temperatures and operate/drive a company vehicle with a valid TN driver’s license and insurance Able to meet the physical demands of the job Equal Opportunity
