The Role
Special Events & Fundraising Volunteer Program Coordinator who will plan, coordinate and implement successful events, in collaboration with staff and volunteer leadership, to raise funds for and promote community awareness of Red Cross services. Develop and execute plans to identify, cultivate, solicit, and recognize event underwriters/sponsors and other event participants. Serve as the regional development team’s first point of contact for community inquiries, responding via phone and written correspondence. Provide staff support for relevant committees. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers. Provide management support for the fundraising team’s volunteer program. Coordinate with fundraising staff and the volunteer services department to identify volunteer projects, work assignments, and to recommend strategies for capacity building through volunteer engagement. Manage the engagement of volunteers through regular communications, appreciation events, and consultation with staff assigned to manage fundraising volunteers. Provide administrative support for the fundraising leadership team through coordination of special projects, department meetings and other duties as assigned. Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State, and local regulations. What You Need To Succeed
Education: Associate's Degree or equivalent required. Experience: Minimum 7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required. Skills & Abilities: Leadership ability with exemplary interpersonal, verbal, listening and written communication skills. Ability to develop the organization in partnership with internal and external collaborators. Comfortable with diverse groups, able to network effectively and establish long-term relationships with the community. Strong teamwork, conflict resolution, and ability to manage multiple priorities with strong organizational skills and creativity. Proficiency with personal computer, word-processing, spreadsheets, and database applications when applicable. Ability to work on a team. Travel: May travel and participate in meetings and conferences throughout regional jurisdiction, state and Red Cross system. Note: Combination of candidate’s education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to the description’s minimum education and general experience years combined.
