Our client, a global law firm, is seeking a Patent Engineer or Patent Agent with a solid technical background. Base pay range
$110,000.00/yr - $180,000.00/yr Schedule
Hybrid: 1-2 days on-site in the Houston office Billable hours
Patent Agent/Technical Specialist - 1,600 Responsibilities
Draft and prosecute patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Analyze scientific and technical documents, including prior patent art, to evaluate inventions and issued patents. Prepare detailed patent drafts that accurately describe inventions in precise legal terms. Prepare information disclosure statements, declarations, and other documents related to patent prosecution. Manage U.S. and international patent prosecution dockets, ensuring deadlines are met. Conduct interviews with USPTO examiners and address their inquiries. Stay current with developments in intellectual property law and practice. Patent Agent Qualifications
Must have a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field. Admitted to practice before the USPTO. Experience in the oil and gas industry or other industries, including mining, industrial, chemical plants, or heavy equipment design. Technical Specialist Qualifications
