Base pay range
$70.00/hr - $90.00/hr Job Title: Identity and Access Management (IAM) Operations Contractor – 6-Month Engagement Location:
Remote Responsibilities
Provide daily operational support for IAM requests, including user account provisioning, deprovisioning, group membership changes, and license assignments. Perform account and group management tasks across on-prem Active Directory and Entra ID environments. Administer mailbox and distribution list management in a hybrid Exchange environment, supporting the organization’s migration toward Exchange Online. Identify repetitive or high-volume operational tasks and develop automation solutions (e.g., PowerShell scripts, workflows) to improve efficiency and accuracy. Create clear, detailed documentation and step-by-step guides to enable Service Desk administrators to handle routine IAM tasks. Collaborate with IGAM team members to ensure alignment of operational processes with security policies and governance requirements. Troubleshoot and resolve identity synchronization and provisioning issues in hybrid environments. Assist in operational readiness tasks to support the organization’s transition to more cloud-native identity management. Required Skills & Experience
Microsoft 365 Administration
– 5+ years; including user and group management, license assignments, and security group administration. On-Premises Active Directory
– 5+ years; user, group, and OU management; group policy fundamentals; troubleshooting AD-related issues. Entra ID (Azure Active Directory)
– 3+ years; hybrid identity management, cloud-native user administration, conditional access familiarity. Exchange Administration
– 3+ years; mailbox and distribution list management in hybrid and/or cloud Exchange environments. PowerShell Scripting
– 3+ years; ability to develop, test, and deploy scripts for automation of common administrative tasks. Hybrid Identity Synchronization
– 2+ years; experience with Azure AD Connect or similar tools, troubleshooting sync and identity lifecycle issues. Process Documentation
– 3+ years; creating clear, actionable documentation for technical and non-technical audiences. Service Desk Collaboration
– 2+ years; experience enabling and training first-level support teams to handle delegated administrative tasks. Preferred Skills
Experience with Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) or other IAM platforms. Familiarity with Entra ID Governance concepts (access reviews, entitlement management, role assignments). Exposure to identity lifecycle management in cloud-first or hybrid migration projects. Basic understanding of processes for incident, request, and change management. Seniority level
