FCP, a nationally recognized real estate investment firm (founded by two former Carlyle principals) with over $14.6B in investments since inception, has hired Garrison on an exclusive basis to assist in hiring a strategic and versatile insurance attorney to serve as its first Associate Counsel, Risk Management.
This high-impact role—reporting to the Director of Asset Management—offers a rare opportunity to help shape the legal and risk management functions of a dynamic and collaborative private equity firm. You’ll work across teams and cases, bring a strategic lens to enterprise risk, and serve as a trusted advisor on insurance, litigation, and operational matters.

Key Responsibilities
Lead risk management initiatives, including claims oversight, insurance strategy, and data-driven reporting
Oversee litigation management and coordinate with external counsel and insurance carriers
Analyze incident trends and insurance data to improve decision-making and cost management
Streamline internal processes related to risk, compliance, and documentation
Collaborate with asset management, legal, and finance teams to manage risk at the property and enterprise levels
Serve as a trusted internal advisor across FCP’s platform
Required Experience
3+ years of legal experience focused on insurance coverage (AmLaw 200 firm, boutique, or in-house)
Deep knowledge of property & casualty insurance, claims processes, and litigation management
Strong business judgment, financial acumen, and strategic thinking
Exceptional communication and organizational skills
Proven ability to work independently and thrive in a hands-on, fast-paced environment
