The Electrification & Automation (E&A) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing in our Future Grids portfolio to create the power distribution grid of the future. Additionally, assembly of low-voltage motor control centers, and retrofit and replacement circuit breakers occurs at the facility. Head of Production – Wendell, NC
We are looking for a Head of Production. This position will be based in Wendell, NC. Relocation assistance is available. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Head of Production provides leadership and expertise in establishing and maintaining an efficient manufacturing program in support of the division’s strategic plan. You will develop efficiency strategies to ensure the attainment of business metrics and production goals with special attention to budgetary requirements. You are responsible for promoting a culture that focuses on safety, quality, cost, and delivery while actively driving continuous improvement initiatives across the organization. Acting as a liaison for the factory, maintaining sound working relationships with internal and external partners. Roles & Responsibilities
Manage the factory’s production activities, manage and report operational KPI’s, and oversee operational improvements. All Production Managers report directly to the Head of Production. Responsible for 6S initiatives across each manufacturing line with a focus on Safety, Quality, On-Time Delivery, Cost, and Inventory Control. Promote a culture of diversity and inclusion and ensure resources are properly assigned to meet customer demand. Work closely with the Plant Manager to ensure production success through strategy development and deployment. Provide operational leadership to meet Safety, Quality, OTD, Inventory Control, and Productivity targets. Drive 6S initiatives across manufacturing lines. Develop, monitor, and improve key performance indicators to measure production performance against targets. Eliminate wastes, improve cycle times, and reduce throughput times in production. Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results. Update processes, procedures, and instructions in alignment with the Technical Department. Collect and analyze data to identify waste or overtime opportunities. Develop new leaders and increase employees’ competency levels. Foster an ownership culture where all employees feel integrated into the business. Establish and maintain professional relationships with employee representatives. Manage production order tasks in Salesforce.com. Ensure accurate manufacturing hours in SAP production bill of materials. Participate in audits and customer visits. Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business Management, Operations, Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related field. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an industrial manufacturing environment or in a role with production management responsibilities. Demonstrated leadership, tactical supervision, and ability to delegate effectively in a Manufacturing/Operations setting. Strong process mindset with experience in process improvement and lean manufacturing. Analytical and problem-solving skills; results-oriented and solution-focused. Excellent communication and team skills to maintain a positive work environment. Ability to create accountability and lead by example; able to prioritize and work under pressure. Proficiency with MS Office; SAP and Salesforce.com. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of medium voltage or low voltage switchgear. About Siemens
