Senior Structural Engineer position focused on the design of structures supporting water purification and treatment facilities, delivering critical water infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities
Execute complex structural analysis, perform calculations, and prepare sketches and drawings for the design of water and wastewater treatment plants, industrial facilities, and other complex structural facilities Supervise Structural Engineers (US and overseas) and work with Structural Technicians in preparation of structural drawings and specifications. Lead larger production teams and serve as the responsible charge for projects Perform construction phase engineering duties such as site visits, responding to RFIs, and review of contractor submittals Perform project administrative tasks, including design fee estimates, monitoring progress against budget and schedule, management of project changes, and implementation of Black & Veatch Quality Control requirements Coordinate work with architects and other discipline engineers Ability to lead a team to execute complex projects with construction values of up to $100M Provide guidance on department design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and BV policies; assist in developing and maintaining engineering standards; provide technical guidance and support continuous improvement Implement resource management for a small group Preferred Qualifications
Master of Engineering or Master of Science from an ABET-accredited Structural Engineering program Familiarity with the latest editions of the International Building Code, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC Steel Construction Manual, ACI 530 Proficiency with structural analysis software such as RISA 3D, STAAD.Pro, or SAP2000 Proficiency with non-structural software packages such as Bluebeam, ProjectWise, AutoCAD, and Revit Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program in the home country or country of practice. Minimum of 8 years related work experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (e.g., criminal/civil background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records) in compliance with applicable laws and regulations Certifications
Most positions require professional registration or licensure in the designated home office country, or active pursuit of such registration Work Environment
