Our client is seeking a
Technical Designer
to join their Washington, D.C.-based Design Team. This role focuses on turning seasonal garment concepts into well-fitting, production-ready pieces that reflect the company’s signature style, quality, and performance. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in garment construction and fit, thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, and enjoys refining and scaling a growing product assortment. You will partner with design, product development, and vendors to ensure every silhouette—from classics to seasonal statements—meets the highest standards of fit and craftsmanship. Responsibilities
Translate garment designs into technical specifications and production-ready tech packs. Lead fit sessions, evaluate samples, and guide vendors through revisions. Collaborate with factories to resolve construction issues and maintain consistency in fit and quality. Track samples, manage tech details, and prepare fittings. Stay current on new techniques, fabric innovations, and sustainability practices. Qualifications
5+ years of technical design experience, preferably with a focus on garments/apparel. Strong knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, grading, and fit. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, PLM systems, and flat sketching. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and effective at cross-team communication. Passion for the company’s aesthetic and commitment to building a best-in-class assortment. Seniority level
