$80,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr Assouline Publishing is seeking a Senior Designer to join its creative team. We’re looking for a strong designer to help design beautiful books focusing on luxury lifestyle - fashion, travel, art, gastronomy, etc. Candidates should have excellent communication, multi-tasking, and creative conceptualization skills. They should be adept at working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and have the ability to juggle multiple projects at once. Responsibilities: Reporting to art directors, the senior designer is responsible for approximately 15-20 luxury book projects per year. Set up templates, design layouts, route materials within deadlines, review color proofs, gather files for printer, and mark up for the production department Work with Art Director, Creative Director, and Editors from concept stage to finish. Conduct art/image research. Creating compelling cover designs and interior layouts for various book formats Prepare files for reprints Liaise with outside departments, including Editorial, Communication, and Production Archive completed files on server for reprint updates Attend weekly status meetings Qualifications: Minimum 5+ years print experience, with prior experience in the luxury industry a plus In-depth knowledge of offset print production a plus Strong typographic and color (CMYK and RGB) skills Superior attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to prioritize and multi-task, meeting various deadlines at once Excellent knowledge of Mac OS and Adobe Creative Suite applications: InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator Knowledge of French a plus Please note:
