Department: Undergraduate Admissions Salary: $12.00 per hour

The Admissions Department is seeking motivated and detail-oriented students to provide administrative, customer service, and event support. This position offers the opportunity to gain valuable professional experience in a higher education environment while assisting prospective students, current students, and campus visitors.

Duties and Responsibilities

Greets and assists visitors, students, and staff in a friendly and professional manner

Answers incoming phone calls, responds to inquiries, and transfers calls to the appropriate staff member

Assists with applications and supporting documents

Assists with campus tours, admissions events, and information sessions as needed.

Performs data entry, scanning, copying, and other clerical duties

Provides general office support to Admissions staff and completes special projects as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook).

Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Flexible schedule during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.)

Minimum Qualifications

Must be a current UH Downtown student with a valid Federal Work-Study award for the academic year.

All positions at the University of Houston-System are security sensitive and will require a criminal history check.
