Were looking for an
experienced Linux Systems Administrator
to support and enhance our on-premises and cloud-based batch application platforms. This role blends traditional systems administration with modern DevOps practices and offers the opportunity to work on both legacy and cloud-native solutions. As part of our team, youll manage workloads in Docker containers, maintain and optimize Java and Python applications, and support CI/CD pipelines that enable smooth deployments. Youll also play a key role in our cloud initiatives, contributing to integrations with AWS Batch, Glue, S3, Lambda, and other services. This is a hands-on role where youll collaborate with engineering and application teams, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure our platforms remain stable, secure, and scalable. What Youll Do
Monitor and support Linux servers, job scheduling platforms, and Slack support channels. Participate in on-call rotation, handling escalations and critical incidents. Troubleshoot application workflows, including KornShell scripts, Docker containers, and CI/CD deployments. Analyze job logs, resolve failures, and implement preventive measures. Tune and optimize Java and Python containerized applications. Apply patches, updates, and security fixes to container runtimes and supporting utilities. Partner with development teams during deployments and production changes. Automate operational tasks using shell scripts or Python. Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps. Proactively identify opportunities to improve system reliability and performance. What Were Looking For
Required Skills & Experience Strong Linux administration skills (RHEL, Debian, or similar). Experience managing and troubleshooting Docker containers. Hands-on experience with Java and Python runtime environments. Proficiency with AWS services (S3, Batch, Lambda). Familiarity with job scheduling tools (e.g., Control-M). Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and GitLab (or similar). Knowledge of orchestration tools (AWS EventBridge, Step Functions). Experience with messaging workflows (Amazon SQS). Familiarity with monitoring tools (Dynatrace, CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana). Proven ability to support production systems requiring high availability. Nice to Have
